PA962: Viking Huscarl 40mm Scale Mould

Huscarl Vikings are the best troops that a Viking King or Jarl can employ to defeat his foes or send on raiding parties. Experience wealthy warriors wearing chain mail over leather, a metal conical hat and a shield and axe or sword. They also had short throwing darts that could weaken enemies before charging in to finish the task.

In a serious conflict they were complimented with other warriors, some semi-professional some not. Our Bondi and Viking axeman make excellent companion warriors with these.

A common tactic when facing a charging enemy was to form a shield wall, interlocking shields and then once the momentum of the enemy had slackened using the butts on the shields to push them apart and hack away. Not as disciplined as the old Roman Empire Legionaries were, these Vikings relied on personal skill to win the day, with a degree of clever tactics and surprise.

This huscarl can be cast hundreds of times so whether you want just a raiding party or a full scale invasion, this mould is your answer. The figure is fully rounded and in 40mm scale so it will require slightly more metal than you may be used to if you used semi-flats before. On average you should cast between 3 and 4 Vikings per ingot.
