The Nativity Story:
About two thousand years ago, in the town of Nazareth, there lived a young woman named Mary. She was engaged to be married to Joseph, a carpenter. One day an angel appeared before her and told her she had been chosen to have a special baby. The baby would be God's son and she must call him Jesus.
Soon after the angel's visit, Mary and Joseph were married. Mary was due to have her baby when they were told they had to go on a long journey to Bethlehem, which was where Joseph came from. This was because they had to pay a special tax.
All the Inns were full so they were forced to stay in a stable. A holy star followed them and rested over the stable. Mary gave birth to her son there. She wrapped Jesus in strips of cloth and laid Him in a manger full of hay.
They were visited by three Shepherds who had seen the star and an angel told them about the special event. They brought gifts to Mary for Jesus.
Three wise kings from the East also came, and they brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to honour the birth of a great leader. They had been studying the star signs and recognised the significance of the star.
To celebrate this event during the season of Christmas, many Christians display the figures depicting those characters in a small stable setting in their homes. We have produced 9 extremely well crafted 54mm scale miniatures, carefully painted to commemorate this event. They are Baby Jesus & crib, Mary, Joseph, 3 Shepherds and 3 wise kings. Each figure is hand painted by experienced Irish artists and designed by the internationally famous miniature designer Chris Tubb. Stables are not included but can be added.
