Digital Thermometer

Take the guess work out of casting with this digital thermometer. Knowing your metal temp is very important for good castings. Dip the probe into the molten metal and within a few seconds you will have a temperature reading. The unit is battery operated with a very long lifetime. It takes a standard 9v battery which which is included. Battery life is over 500 hours. These types of batteries you can buy in most supermarkets.

9v battery included.

As you mix white metals together, the melting temperatures changes. Take lead f.ex. melts at 328c but mix it with 10% tin and the melting temperature reduces to 230c.  Bismuth is another metal which has a similar effect on lead. We would not recommend you to mix any other metal than above as they can have strange effects on the alloy.
It is important to not overheat the metal as this will wear out the moulds faster and can cause surface holes.
