Description

The Battle of the Boyne was fought in 1690 between two rival claimants of the English, Scottish, and Irish thrones – the Catholic King James and the Protestant King William (who had deposed James in 1688) – across the River Boyne near Drogheda on the east coast of Ireland.

Part of the French contingent which King Louis XIV sent in support of King James II, this regiment was commanded by a Swiss-German, Colonel Conrad von Zurlauben and was also known as the Blue Regiment. It was due to von Zurlauben's defense of the Bridge of Duleek against the Williamites that the Jacobite army were able to withdraw and continue the war until the Treaty of Limerick on 3rd October 1691.

This figure require some assembly and is supplied unpainted.

This product is not suitable for children under the age of 14.
