The tomahawk was a simple hand held axe that doubles as a close range projectile. Before contact with colonialists the tops of these axes were made from sharp stone or deer antler. Later after contact with metal working Europeans, metal bladed axes became more popular. They were also used as valuable trade products in exchange for food or other provisions.
Both Native Americans and settlers from Europe used tomahawks as they were similar to hatchets and had plenty of peaceful applications.
This mould allows you to cast a Native American wielding a tomahawk many dozens of times. Low temperature metals like our Model Metal (an alloy of lead, tin and bismuth) offers the best choice when casting.
Normally you should expect to cast between 4 and 5 figures from a bar of Prince August metal, provided you remelt the ingates after each casting.
This mould was originally designed by the famous miniature sculptor, Holger Eriksson, in the 60's and 70's.
This is not a stand alone product, you are expected to have the necessary equipment and metal to utilise this mould at home.
This product is not suitable for children under the age of 14.
