This has to be the most challenging method of gunfighting, shooting a moving target while galloping on a horse over rough terrain while facing backwards. In the Old West horseback fighting made perfect sense as both parties were often mounted due to the long distances involved when travelling. Moving fast was long known as offering better protection than armour when it came to early firearms, although rifles by the mid to late 19th Century were leaver-action repeaters which made it very lethal as it was both accurate and could shoot multiple times before reloading.
This mould allows you to cast a mounted Cowboy as he fires his rifle backwards at his pursuer. Holger Eriksson, a famous 20th Century miniature designer, hand carved the master figure from wood to scale.
If you have not cast before then please purchase our Kit 2000 accessories and some metal with this mould. Our Model Metal is an alloy of lead, tin and bismuth that gives great detail while also extending the life of the mould dramatically as it melts at a very low temperature.
