Description

Cast Seven Years' War semi-flat 40mm scale Prussian metal soldiers with interchangeable heads.

Difficulty Levels 1 to 5:

  • Casting Difficulty - 3
  • Assembly Difficulty - 4
  • Painting Difficulty - 3

Casting advice:

Use 4 clamps instead of two (or use more elastic bands than normal). Space the clamps on the upper and lower quarters of each side of the mould when securing the mould. Venting should only be needed if you are not using Model Metal.
When venting you may need to drill a 1.5 mm hole through the mould at certain points. On the reverse side of the mould (the plain side) where the hole comes out you can add a channel upwards if you choose to, but as long as you have placed the rough side of the support board against the mould the air should be able to escape safely.

We recommend our scalpels because you need an extremely sharp blade to properly vent a mould.

Mould 3103 casts.

  1. Infantryman body, 3103/1
  2. Grenadier head, 3103/2
  3. Musketeer head, 3103/3
  4. Infantryman body, 3103/4
  5. Grenadier head, 3103/5
  6. Musketeer head. 3103/6

    A great mould as usual.

These versatile mounds are great. The head options give you the ability to make these figures grenadiers and fusiliers.

The One Mold to Rule Them All

If you want to create a Prussian army, you will spend much time with this mold. Vent the bayonets! Save all the heads for when you decide to make a regiment of grenadiers. These new two figure SYW molds need to be tightly clamped in all four corners.

    brilliant new range

Great to see the Prince August company is constantly renewing and expanding their products, in this case more of the SYW. Somehow an ideal era for painting and representing toysoldiers. for decades, we hobbyists have been cutting, viling and gluing heads and other parts from tin soldiers to make conversions, but now a dream has come true! PA has made such multi moulds and oh boy do the figures look good! the detail is stunning, but I had to make some venting canals for the bajonets. my only point of criticism is that the two poses are identical. even for wargaming; wouldn't it have been nice to see two slightly different poses? that would bring a little more life in a regiment (or you can also make conversions with other PA moulds for this purpose). In my eyes a missed opportunity, but for the rest a splendid new range. Frederick himself would be proud!
