Description

Cast Seven Years' War semi-flat 40mm scale Artillery Cannon with interchangeable barrels. Crewmen moulds sold separately. Includes 2 PTFE rods.

Difficulty Levels 1 to 5:

  • Casting Difficulty - 5
  • Assembly Difficulty - 3
  • Painting Difficulty - 2

Casting advice:

Use 4 clamps instead of two (or use more elastic bands than normal). Space the clamps on the upper and lower quarters of each side of the mould when securing the mould. Venting should only be needed if you are not using Model Metal.
When venting you may need to drill a 1.5 mm hole through the mould at certain points. On the reverse side of the mould (the plain side) where the hole comes out you can add a channel upwards if you choose to, but as long as you have placed the rough side of the support board against the mould the air should be able to escape safely.

We recommend our scalpels because you need an extremely sharp blade to properly vent a mould.

Mould 3117 Artillery: Cannon and Howitzer.

  1. 12 pdr gun.
  2. Austrian/ Prussian howitzer.
  3. Russian howitzer (Unicorn).
  4. 6 pdr gun.

To assemble the cannon, add the axle to the main carriage by fitting it into the slot on the underside of the carriage. Then attach wheels.
The carriage should be painted dark yellow with black ironwork and attachments. All barrels will be of bronze.

The best cannon on the market.

I love this kit and as a huge fan of scale model artillery it really appeals to me. Having only made 25 and 54mm cannons before I was unsure how these would feel/look. They are brilliant! I had no issues casting them and the variety of barrels in a single kit is much appreciated Only thing missing is a limber, although these should be easy enough to build using the cannon wheels and axles. Very good mold kit and would recommend to anyone.

    great Molds

They seem very well done. I'll use in a few days and I'm sure about the great Prince August products standard quality.

    great product

Slight bend in the carriage of the mould but wonderfully easy to cast, would highly recommend.
