Impeccable detail.
Overall very impressed. Using mid level metal and very pleased with result. Paints well giving a great level of detail.
The Napoleonic Wars (1803-15) were a series of wars declared against Napoleon's French Empire by opposing coalitions. As a continuation of the wars sparked by the French Revolution of 1789, they revolutionised European armies and played out on an unprecedented scale, mainly owing to the application of modern mass conscription. French power rose quickly as Napoleon's armies conquered much of Europe but collapsed rapidly after France's disastrous invasion of Russia in 1812. Napoleon's empire ultimately suffered complete military defeat resulting in the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy in France.

My second attempt, using Model Metal, vented and on a warmer day, was much more successful. I had to stop pouring metal into the flag bearer mould and concentrated on the firers, just to balance the numbers of men made.

My first attempt with this mold, using a mixture of metal and without any venting. I managed to get a few successful soldiers before stopping for the day. I have now vented and am waiting for a delivery of Model Metal from Northern Smelters, plus my next attempt will be on a warmer day. The standing soldiers are larger than the officer figure from Set 535, being between 26-27mm foot to eye. The officer figure is 25mm foot to eye.
This is a great set of figures. There's plenty of detail, but the figures still lend themselves to "paint" conversions nicely. I did not have to vent the mold very much - very workable.
An epic film...enjoy!
