Viking Bondi
Very nice little figure. Casts very easily and painting is no problem as the details are so good. If you want a "first time" 40mm figure - I'd go for this one.
Viking Bondi were called into service at times of crisis by their chieftain. They wore padded leather jerkins and carried long ash thrusting spears and a wooden shield. They were support troops, used to assist the professional warriors like the Huscarls or Mercenaries. Normally these men were small farmers that owed feudal service to the Chief or Jarl.
These would not normally be sent on raiding parties, but were used for conflicts between Jarls or defending against retaliations by hostile neighbours.
Usually you should have enough metal in a single ingot of metal to cast about 4 of these figures. Due to their fully rounded nature, they use more metal than the typical semi-flat figures we normally supply.
B = Base, W = Wash, HD = Hi-Dry, BD = Base Dry.
All figures are first undercoated in white paint and all the other colours are painted over this.
