6-Star Metal is a low melting point alloy for home-casting of miniatures. It contains 40% Tin SN and 60% Bismuth BI and is non toxic. Castings are safe to handle for children but beware of that small children can swallow small pieces. The metal is hard and miniatures cannot be bended.
Lowest melting point of any home casting metal. Can be molten on a domestic cooker
Allow 2-3 minutes before releasing from a mould.
Melts at 140°C (284°F).
Cast at 300-370°C. (572F-698F)
Melts on electric cooker at maximum. For very fine detailed casting we recommend our Solder Melting Pot which can bring up temperature up higher.
All our casting metal come in same size bars. So above chart is valid for Standard, 5Star, 6Star and Model Metal.
