PA15101 Vasa Cannon Craft Kit

This is a Swedish language kit that has a unique mould for the ship cannon from the 17th Century 64 gun warship 'Vasa'. That ship is currently located in the city center of Stockholm in the Vasa Museum, the most visited museum in Scandinavia with over 3 million visitors annually. The ship was salvaged mostly intact and it had sunk on her maiden voyage in 1628. Go to the Vasa museum official website for more details.

The cannon will require some simple assembly after casting. The barrel is slightly longer than 60mm.

The metal is Model Metal, an alloy that contains Tin, Bismuth and Lead. Wash hands with soapy water after handling it before eating.

The contents of this kit include the following:

• Rubber Mould
  
• Casting Ladle. Add a second here.
• Support bands (thick elastic).
• Support boards (2).
• 10 metal pellets. More Model Metal here.

• 11 tubs of acrylic paint (3 ml each). More paint here.
• 1 tub of primer paint (3 ml). More Primer available here.
• 2 different types of synthetic paint brushes. One flat end for easy coverage of large areas and one pointed for detail work.
• Wooden stirrer stick (to stir the metal and test its temperature).

Casting the figures does require adult supervision unless you are over 14 years old.

Notice: Hot metal is not a toy. Never cool mould with water. Always allow at least 5 minutes for metal to cool before attempting to open mould.
