This is a 40mm scale black rubber mould that can cast a male Javelin thrower. This was designed to celebrate the 1972 Olympics in Munich. The champion Javelin thrower, Klaus Wolfermann from West Germany won the gold medal and his closest competitor was Jānis Lūsis from the Soviet Union.
Holger Eriksson, a famous miniature sculptor in the 60's and 70's, designed this mould, carving the original from wood, which shows his skill at anatomy and lightness of touch.
